Notes on Refraction of Light Refraction of Light Plane Surface Refraction of Light: Refraction is the bending of light when it passes from one medium to another with a different refractive index. Refractive Index: Refractive index (n) of a medium is the ratio of the speed of light in a vacuum to the speed of light in that medium.
